Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

Welcome to Delhi! Upon arrival, you'll be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay. The rest of the day is at your leisure to rest or take a leisurely stroll through the vibrant local area.

Day 2: Delhi's Vibrant Contrasts

Embark on a morning exploration of Old Delhi with a thrilling cycle rickshaw ride through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk. Visit the majestic Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques. In the afternoon, discover the grandeur of Lutyens's New Delhi, with stops at Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar. Day 3: Fly to Dharamsala

Catch a morning flight to Dharamsala, your gateway to the Himalayas. Transfer to your charming accommodation in McLeodganj, where you’ll stay for two nights. Begin your immersion into Tibetan culture with visits to Norbulingka, a center for Buddhist learning, and explore the serene surroundings of McLeodganj.

Day 4: Tibetan Culture and Scenic Beauty

Continue your exploration of Dharamsala, including visits to the Tibetan government-in-exile and the Dalai Lama Temple. Enjoy the tranquil landscapes and the unique Tibetan culture that defines this area.

Day 5: Drive to Manali

Set off on a scenic drive to Manali, passing through the picturesque Palampur Tea Estate. Check into your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day exploring Old Manali and visiting Hadimba Temple, surrounded by lush forests.

Day 6: Explore Manali

Spend the day discovering Manali’s natural beauty and vibrant local culture. Explore the town, take a leisurely walk in the surrounding landscapes, or relax and enjoy the local ambiance.

Day 7: Journey to Jispa

Commence your Trans-Himalayan safari with a drive to Jispa, crossing the renowned Rohtang Pass. En route, visit the Khardung Gompa and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. Stay overnight in Jispa, a serene high-altitude village.

Day 8: Drive to Sarchu

Drive to Sarchu, crossing the Baralacha La (16,000 feet). The journey takes you through dramatic high-altitude landscapes. Overnight in a tented camp, experiencing the rugged charm of the region.

Day 9: Arrival in Leh

Drive through the Rupshu plains, with opportunities to see rare wildlife such as kiang (wild ass) and ibex. Cross Taglang La (17,500 feet) before reaching Leh, where you’ll stay for three nights. Explore Leh Bazaar, the Leh Palace, and local gompas, including Sankar and Shanti Stupa.

Day 10: Leh and Surroundings

Delve deeper into Ladakh’s spiritual heritage with a full-day tour of the Indus Valley. Visit the impressive Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Gompa, and Shey Monastery. Enjoy the remarkable architecture and serene environment of these significant sites.

Day 11: Explore Alchi

Drive to Alchi, visiting the Likir Monastery along the way. Explore the Alchi Gompa and stay overnight at Alchi Resort, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Day 12: Return to Leh

Return to Leh in the afternoon, giving you time to relax and reflect on your Himalayan adventure. Enjoy a final night in Leh at your chosen accommodation.

Day 13: Fly Back to Delhi

Fly back to Delhi. Upon arrival, transfer to your airport hotel for a final night in the city. Enjoy some last-minute shopping or sightseeing as you prepare for your departure.

Day 14: Departure

Transfer to Delhi Airport for your flight back home. Reflect on your extraordinary journey through the heart of the Himalayas as you travel towards your next destination or home.

When to Travel?

For “The Himalayan Odyssey,” the ideal time to visit is from May to September. The weather during these months is comfortably warm, providing the perfect conditions for exploring the stunning landscapes and engaging in outdoor adventures. April and October offer pleasant weather with moderate temperatures, making them good months to experience the region with fewer crowds. Traveling from November to March, however, might bring colder temperatures and potential snowfall, which could make travel more challenging but adds a unique charm to the journey.
